Thank you gay man!

Letter to the gay man left on an apartment block porch in Newtown.

Mind boggles:

  1. What's in the letter?
  2. How could there be 'The' gay man in an apartment block in Newtown? There's no 'one gay person per apartment block' rule that I'm aware of.
  3. Maybe Gay Man is a super hero. In which case what heroic deed had he done to deserve a thank you letter?

Red October

Severe bushfires cast striking colours on Sydney, a surreal afternoon. I walk from Sydney Park in St Peters to Darling Harbour with jaw agape. No editing of photos apart from auto-brightness adjustment.

Hello Kitty

Two pussycats meet in the street and do a lap or two around a pot plant, it's like a slapstick routine. Is this the start of a turf war or a beautiful friendship?

Sign of the times

A welcome sign in these hard times when every third shop in King Street Newton is a freaking frozen yoghurt joint.

In the Cathouse

Love how this cat house gets it's own street number. It's the little things that make me love Newtown so much.

Pussycats of January and a bit, 2012

I've been walking the same routes a lot lately so meeting the same pussycats. I do my best.

Taking time to smell the roses...

Lemme in!

Great big cat on a warm car roof, Newtown. Pat me if you must.

King Street's most spoilt shop cat.

I'm not even waking up for the pussycat paparazzi.

Action cat of Newtown, will leap letterboxes in a single bound if there's a free pat involved.

Even action heroes dribble.

This little black duck solicits pats from his apartment window, Newtown.

This one gets a blind left open so he can see the world go by.

Mr Billie J Pussycat of enmore, seems a bit poorly but very friendly.

My Stumpytail J Pussycat of Newtown\Enmore likes sleeping on the road.

What could be better than an afternoon nap?

A free scratch. Newtown\Enmore.

Oliver is a local celebrity.

He will always get up to say hello, and follow you down the road.

Get thee behind me Satan.

Cars were invented for cats to sleep under.

Mr Tink J Pussycat of Newtown likes a scratch.

He's a bit of a tart.

Oi, more pats!

Cat street art, Erskineville.

Mr Zebedee J Pussycat of Darlington.

Gotta play the lie down and be nonchalant game.

Off on a date.

Pussycat buddyies, Enmore.

Instant best friend. Possibly the most forceful pat tart I've met.

Serious pussycat business.

Another fine feline of Newtown\Enmore. She has a fancy diamonte collar so we call here Jeannie Little.

Scratch me happy.

Fuckwit of the Year

What an Australia Day present...

Some complete and utter tool has painted over the beautiful signage on the wall of King Street Cyclery, Newtown. This vintage motor garage signage probably dates back to around 1940 and was a wonderful piece of history. I just can't believe somebody would paint over this. A piece of Australian history is destroyed forever. Why don't you paint over "I had a Dream" while you're at it? Whoever did this: you are a complete and utter small dick fuckknuckle

There's some many great artists doing wonderful street art in the area and then we have this. And taggers. It doesn't just make me angry, it makes me depressed. Rant over.

Australia Day Explained

Saw this pair of posters up in a couple of spots around Newtown, Australia Day in a nutshell.

Slip Him a Mickey

Mickey Mouse living it up in a hot tub of hookers and cocaine, out the front of a retro shop, King Street Newtown.

Straya Day

I've been looking for a way to attached VB cans to my Speedos. This fine Straya Day display at Cream clothes shop in Newtown is the answer to my prayers.

Waratah Neptune Oil...

Some lovely vintage service station advertising on the wall of Newtown's King Street Cyclery appears after the burning down and flattening of the old laundromat next door. Shame some frecklehead had to put some crap graffiti on it. There's street art and then there's street arse.

Vegan Meat Pies of Newtown

Another street sign for Egan Street gets an extra "V", right in front of the Pie Face pie shop, a festival of manufactured meat, nice one. We hate to admit it but Pie Face does a hellava sausage roll, sorry vegans.
